01. How do you calculate the job length on the day of the move?
Service time begins upon arrival at the pick-up location and concludes once the final item is unloaded at the drop-off location. After that, we charge in 15-minute increments.
The deposit covers the minimum 2 hour charge plus the travel fee.
03. What happens to my deposit on cancelled or delayed jobs?
To ensure availability, we require a minimum of 6 days’ notice prior to your move. In the event of a cancellation or delay with less than 6 days’ notice, your deposit may be forfeited, depending on the circumstances. Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss any changes to your schedule.
04. Are the boxes that are overfilled alright to be moved?
Try minimise the amount that overflows from boxes. They are much easier and quicker to move and pack into the truck if there are no protrusions. Ensure they are adequately taped and labelled to save yourself some time organising at the drop-off.
05. Are there any extra charges that you might add on the day of the move?
Absolutely not. We charge based on the items included in the estimate signed by you.
06. What could make my move take longer than the estimated time?
Common factors include; having more items than originally listed in your inventory list, having furniture that needs to be disassembled and assembled, not having an elevator booking for apartment moves, longer than expected access to either property from the truck, traffic and weather conditions.
07. I’m only moving 1 item, is there a lower fee for much smaller moves?
15-minute increments are more accurate and the price reflects better for the work our teams complete. We try not to be like other companies that over-charge for their services.
08. What is ‘travel time’ and why is it an extra cost?
‘Travel time’ is a separate and fixed fee on top of the moving time depending on how far you are from our office. It is the time it takes for our team to get to you, and for them to travel back from the drop-off address.
09. How do you prepare for a fridge to be moved?
Ensure that the contents of the fridge have been emptied and properly bagged. Use masking tape on the doors to ensure there is no risk of them opening during the move. Tape the power cable to the back of the fridge to ensure no damage.
10. Why do you charge in 15-minute increments?
15-minute increments are more accurate and the price reflects better for each job. Some companies charge by the half hour and round it up and you end up paying an extra 20 or 25 minutes
11. Can you transport Pianos? Are there any extra charges for moving pianos?
We can transport specific pianos, and yes there is an extra charge added to your removalist Sydney prices. We only transport upright pianos. Anything larger than an upright piano is too susceptible to damages. When booking a job, let us know if you need a piano moved and we can let you know the options.
12. How do you safely transport Artwork?
Artwork is wrapped in our heavy duty moving blankets to ensure safety during transit. For particularly delicate pieces of art, we recommend using specific packing materials that we can supply if necessary.
13. What days are best for moving?
Between Monday and Saturday, we have a lower rate than Sundays.
14. What happens if my furniture is damaged during my move?
The removalists at Inmove Removals are well trained and experienced, however please understand that accidents may occur during your move. Where damaged is caused by handling and/or transporting your goods, we offer to repair, replace or compensate for any damages caused by us.
